Furthermore, many research methodology texts (particularly for medicine and pharmacy) only address quantitative research methods and therefore omit the importance of qualitative and mixed research methods in studying complex health issues. Existing research methodology texts are often seen as non-user-friendly due to complicated writing style and lack of linkage between theories and practice. However, learning about research methodology is daunting for many Indonesian health workers and health profession students.

Health research and evidence-based practice still need to be improved in Indonesia.
